Sinterklaas is a Dutch holiday tradition. There are many similarities to North American Christmas celebrations but a few key differences. For starters Sinterklaas visits on December 5th. Children leave out their clogs (or shoes, boots, assorted footwear) and he'll fill them with kruidnoten, chocolate and other goodies. Kids also receive the first letter of their name made out of chocolate.
Every Sinterklaas the Dutch Shop is happy to host the man himself as he makes his way around the world. It's a fun afternoon of gifts and treats, and we invite everyone to bring the kids and meet Sinterklaas.
Unfortunately we will not be having in-person Sinterklaas this year but we look forward to his return soon!

We hope to see you next year!
